Wagering Requirements Explained
Wagering requirements are one of the most important concepts to understand before accepting a casino bonus.
Suppose a casino gives you:
£40 Bonus
and applies:
10× wagering
You may have to make £400 of qualifying wagers before the bonus and/or associated winnings become withdrawable, depending on the exact terms:
£40 × 10 = £400
This does not mean you are guaranteed to lose £400.
It means £400 of qualifying wagering must be completed according to the promotion’s rules.
There is another type of wagering condition to understand.
BetMGM’s current promotion, for example, requires customers to deposit £10 and wager £10 on eligible games to unlock 200 free spins. The free spins themselves and winnings from those spins currently have no additional wagering requirement.
Those are two different concepts:
Qualifying wagering → what you must do to earn the promotion.
Bonus wagering requirement → what you may need to wager before bonus funds or winnings become withdrawable.
Understanding the difference makes casino offers much easier to compare.
